I am a seasoned contemporary and ballet dancer, living and working in New York City.
Currently, I work as a freelance artist and soloist with the Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater Company, a growing contemporary balled and modern dance company, based on the work of legendary Mexican contemporary choreographer, Annabella Gonzalez. T

2001 – 2003 The Joffrey Ballet School New York NY Enrolled into the Joffrey Ballet School’s prestigious Summer Intensive and thereafter, took a regular schedule of technique, variation, partnering, and men’s classes.
1995 – 2000 Bates College Lewiston, ME
Studied under Marcy Plavin, Mark Morris, Doug Verone, Stephen Petronio, Doug Elkins, and Katiti King (now at Barnard College). Appeared in Gloria, by Michael Foley as part of the Bates Modern Dance Ensemble.
Received early dance training in ballet at the Escuela Nacional de Danza in Mexico.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2002 – 2008 Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater New York, NY Soloist. Credits include solo roles in Love Mask, Dueto, Encuentros, Mozart Mania, TREINTA and FUSION—AGDT’s two signature dance pieces fusing ballet, modern, and Mexican folklore—Millennium, Viejitos, and Deer Dance, created especially for me from an old Mexican dance, El Venado.
2006 Kat Wildish New York, NY
Soloist. Corsaire Pas de Deux, a project conceived by Ballerina du Monde Kat Wildish at the Martin Luther King High School Auditorium in New York City.
2005 Collin Higgins’ Productions New York, NY
Soloist. Performed alongside Eric Hoisington (San Francisco Ballet) and Sonia Kostich (White Oaks Projects) in a mix-media performance art and contemporary ballet project at the Wings Theater in the West Village, staged by Collin Higgins, a freelance composer and ABT pianist.
2005 – 2007 Staten Island Ballet Theater Staten Island, NY
Guest Artist. Credits include solo work in SIBT’s annual production of the Nutcracker, as well as summer, midyear, and fall productions, both classical and contemporary.
2006 – 2007 Orange County Ballet Theater Orange County, NJ
Guest Artist. Credits include solo performances as the Prince in OCBT’s annual production of the Nutcracker.
2005 Dance Conservatory of New York New York, NY
Guest Artist. Performed the role of Prince and Russian variation, as part of Valentina Koslova’s annual Nutcracker production at New York City’s Symphony Space.
TOURING AND GUEST TEACHING
2007-08 Guest Teacher. Sierra Vista Ballet Theater, where I helped stage excerpts from Giselle and Corsaire to the schools’ pre-professional division, and taught modern and ballet technique to competition dancers at Dance Fusion and the Alma Dolores International Dance Center, Arizona.
2007-08. Two two-week residencies and tour at South Carolina State University.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Bilingual, a dual national of Mexico and the U.S. Kind, cooperative, enthusiastic, and able to work under duress. Finally, knowing that a performers’ life is short, Echazarreta recently obtained a master’s degree in nonprofit management from the NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.
