"Monhegan Island Icon" watercolor on paper 17 x 21" A plein air painting done on Monhegan Island, Maine. This life preserver has been hanging on the post forever at Lobster Cove on Monhegan. It's a part of the landscape. And yet, it seems a bit of an illusion, as no one has ever been rescued from the seas off of Monhegan. $1200.00

"Geraniums in the Moonlight" - Watercolor - image size 10 x 16" $400.00. I trimmed my geraniums and put the blossoms in saki cups and then the idea of moonlight was just an imaginary thing. So it's a bit surreal. ]">
"Lavender Blue" mixed media, image size 13 x 15. My "memory" painting of a field of flowers stretching to the horizon under a warm summer sky. $400.00 ]"> "Katahdin Plein Air from Frederic Church's Camp" - Image size 17 x 21" - $1200.00. Frederic Church had a camp built on the shore of Millinocket Lake in Maine, and this is the view from the camp. I am the first artist invited to teach a workshop there. The camps have always been privately owned, and for the first time now since Church was there, the camps are open to the public. It is truly a historic site. Mt. Katahdin looms in the distance across the lake, with little Trout Mountain casting a reflection in the water. ]">
Image size 19 x 28" $1800.00.
Light streams into the upstairs bedroom of this old shingled house on an island in Penobscot Bay. I can hear the soughing of the wind in the boughs outside the window, and the faint whisper of the waves slipping
up the rocks on the cliff below.  ]">
- Watercolor - "Coming up the steps to my studio, I glanced at the window box filled with flowers, and saw an idea for a painting. Not the flowers themselves, but the reflections in the window behind them."

Watercolor - "I cut peonies from my garden, arranged them in my favorite pitcher and left them sitting on the rock wall before bringing them into the house. The sunlight from behind made it so  dramatic that I decided to paint it right there". ]">
